A Brite Idea with Sylvania

Our family continues our green efforts in small ways - recycling when possible (since our city doesn't host a mandatory program), donating and trading items, eco-friendly cleaning products, and energy efficient appliances all contribute to our smaller footprint...we have also replaced all our old, incandescent light bulbs with Sylvania Halogen Supersaver light bulbs. We have tried other brands in previous exchanges, but I didn't find the light quality to be as bright or pleasant. Perfect for general lighting as well as reading light with smaller wattage. They last longer, give off excellent light, and use less energy - what a blessing! DEFINITELY A BRIGHT IDEA!!!: My daughter's Girl Scout Troop is holding their meeting this week to discuss "Green World Initiatives" so she is bringing some Sylvania halogen Supersaver light bulbs for each girl to try at home and learn more about this important lighting innovation for quality and energy efficiency.

The SYLVANIA halogen SUPERSAVER light bulb emits the same bright white light as regular incandescent bulbs, but uses up to 33% less energy (and no mercury). With a familiar shape and dimmable features, these bulbs can also fit easily into pre-existing accent lights, track lights, or other fixtures, making them a great transition lightbulb for busy Moms. Of note, traditional incandescents are being phased out under the Federal Government's Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007.

OSRAM SYLVANIA is a leader in lighting solutions that feature innovative design and energy saving technology. Visit the at www.sylvania.com/HalogenSS or follow them at www.twitter.com/sylvania

I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by Mom Central on behalf of SYLVANIA and received products necessary to facilitate my candid review. In addition, I received a gift certificate to thank me for taking the time to participate.

R U Enjoyin' The View? Then Go With The Flow!

Those fun and fabulous ladies from ABC Daytime's The View are really heating these up lately! Last week's episodes were filled with great interviews and Hot Topics! I really missed Whoopi's take for the few days she was absent - I can't wait for her return...

Their pre-Oscar coverage was great - did you tune into Barbara Walter's final Oscar Show on Sunday evening? I can't believe it's been 29 wonderful-years! I have enjoyed her special perspective and talent while sharing intimate and inspired coversation with over 90 talented and influential stars!

This week's shows will continue the great trend of interesting topics:

TUESDAY, MARCH 9 – Guests -Andy Garcia and his daughter Dominik Garcia-Lorido (“City Island”); Elissa Stein and Susan Kim (author, Flow: The Cultural Story of Menstruation).

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 10 – Guests: Forest Whitaker (“Our Family Wedding”); Jesse Ventura (author, American Conspiracies).

THURSDAY, MARCH 11 – Sir Elton John will be sitting with the women at the table and partaking in “Hot Topics”; Guest - Eric McCormack (“Who Is Clark Rockefeller?”).

FRIDAY, MARCH 12 – Co- Host Kate Gosselin is back and will join the women and the return of “The View: Fashion Friday” with designer Carolina Herrera.

I can't wait to watch today's show to hear from Susan Kim, author of "Flow: The Cultural History of Menstruation"! I am fascinated by the world's perspective of such a delicate topic.

Also, Kate Gosselin on Friday will likely dish about her participation in the latest cycle of "Dancing With the Stars"...I am eager to hear how she plans on preparing for such a demanding and physical project while single-parenting her large brood???

I am a participant in a Mom Central campaign for ABC Daytime and will receive a tote bag or other The View branded items to facilitate my review.
